What is the class like?
The emphasis is on engaging the children’s senses through activities. Sheryl comes prepared with a bag of sensory props and uses different objects to engage and help the children practice how to be more in the present moment. These activities can be relaxing and many children will share how good they felt during and after the session.
Why use the senses?
It is the awareness that is created during the activity that is beneficial not the activity itself. When the senses are used the mind can’t drift off and they can’t get lost in thought and the result is MINDFULNESS.
Is this only helpful for children?
No. It is good for anyone at any age.
Yes. Other classes offered are Mindfulness in the Classroom, Mindfulness for Adults, Mindful Parenting, and Mindfulness with Babies.
